Barr Memorial Chapel obituary – Ronald Lee Ranck, 73, Burlington

Ronald Lee Ranck, 73 years, of Burlington, Iowa died Friday, December 15, 2023 at his residence.  He was born January 2, 1950, a son of Alvin and Margaret (Denham) Ranck.  He was a 1968 graduate of Fort Madison High School.  Ron joined the United States Army right after high school.  He served four years active duty during the Vietnam War, and received a honorable discharge.  He married Patricia Jones, and they had two children, Stacy and Jeremy.  They later divorced.  He had a longtime career as a welder at Case.  He loved crossword puzzles, and worked them daily.  He enjoyed the Dodgers, Hawkeyes, and Steelers, and was a racing fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacy (Andrew) King of North Liberty, Iowa; three siblings: Robert (Diane) Ranck of West Point, Iowa; Raymond (Julie) Ranck of Burlington; and Rebecca Levering of Sidney, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, and his son Jeremy.
