Kenneth Wayne Schnedler, 88, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa, surrounded by his family. 

He was born June 29, 1935 in Oakville, Iowa, the son of George and Vivian (Schweitzer) Schnedler. On August 31, 1984 he married Dolores Ann Scanlan in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death September 11, 2021. 

Kenneth served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his service, he worked at JI Case in Burlington, Iowa, until his retirement. In his retirement he worked part-time for Geode State Park, Danville, Iowa and the Pink Tavern, Lomax. He enjoyed boating, camping, trapshooting, vacationing, gambling, races, westerns, and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. 

Survivors include two granddaughters: Michelle (Sheldon) Martin and Tasha Tallman; five great-grandchildren: Mariah, Macy, Landon and Layna Martin and Ariana Bertelli; three siblings: John (Shirley) Schnedler, Melvin (Mary Rae) Schnedler and Eunice (Richard) Turner and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Donna Jean Schnedler and Phyllis Lease.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.

A visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, Illinois.
