William David Rodgers, Jr., 94, of Burlington, IA, died Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his home in Burlington.

He was born January 7, 1930 in Berkley, CA the son of William David and Sadie Noble Rodgers. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On November 26, 1955 he was united in marriage to Shirley Green in Sebastopol, CA.  She preceded him in death on January 17, 1996.

William was employed with Wood Brothers in Gallatin, MO for fourteen years until his retirement.

He loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could fishing and camping.  He enjoyed tinkering around the house and garage making repairs and starting new projects.   Most of all he loved being with his family.

He is survived by three daughters, Desiree Rodgers of Burlington, Terrea Puterbaugh (David) of Fairbanks, AK, and Alice Petker of Burlington, two sons, Michael Rodgers of Ft. Madison, and Clifford Rodgers of Hamilton, IL.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren with one on the way and one niece.

Besides his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents, one son William David Rodgers III, one sister, Florence Rodgers and one brother Robert Rodgers.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
