Vigen Memorial Home obituary - Arthur L. Vaughan, Jr. 77, Keokuk

Arthur LeRoy “B-Boy” Vaughan, Jr. 77 of Keokuk, IA passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA.         
He was born October 21, 1946 in Keokuk, IA the son of Arthur and Gladys Howard Vaughan. 
B-Boy had been employed by Fruehauf/Wabash in Ft. Madison, IA for thirty-three years until his retirement in 2001.
B-Boy was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and South Side Boat both in Keokuk.  He was also a member of UAW Local 1492 and had served on the board and negotiation committee. 
B-Boy loved old cars and enjoyed collecting ’50-60’s memorabilia.  He was a passionate musician and talented bass guitarist. B-Boy played bass guitar in the popular local band “The Oak Street Band” for many years.  
He is survived by two sons, Scott Vaughan (Rachel) of Quincy, IL and Robert Vaughan (Becky Bloyd) of Ft. Madison, IA, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by one half-brother, Jim Hopkins (Judy) of Keokuk, one half-sister, Barbara Weber of Keokuk, his special friend, Shirley Bloyd and her family and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Debbie, one son, Joe Vaughan, one half-sister, Patty West and one half-brother, Max Hopkins.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dave Barrett officiating.
