Rozeltha A. Heidbreder, 88, Fort Madison

Rozeltha “Rose” Ann Heidbreder, 88, of Fort Madison formerly of Montrose died Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at her home at the River Valley Place in Fort Madison, IA.
Rose was born on August 10, 1935 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Arlo C. and Dora Mae Carter Smith.
She graduated from the Montrose High School with the Class of 1953.
She was united in marriage to George Cale on October 23, 1954 in Montrose and later divorced.  She then married Richard Heidbreder and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Bob Azinger.
Rose was a faithful member of the Montrose Church of the Nazarene.
She was employed by the Breck Co. in Fort Madison until her retirement.
 Rose loved a good deal on anything antique that she could add to her collection and working for Auctions by Smith made it a lot easier to find that good deal. She enjoyed her vegetable garden, so she could share some of her harvest.  Rose also loved to crochet and her family thought she was a great cook and always ready to indulge in one of her great meals. She also loved to play cards with her family and always played to win.
She is survived by three sons, Arlo “Randy” Cale (Roger) of Ft. Madison, George Michael Cale (Sherri) of Gardner, KS and Kevin David Cale (Tina) of Donnellson, two step-sons Rich Heidbreder (Athena), of Lyndeborough, NH and Mike Heidbreder (Hermie) of OK, one step-daughter, Lorie Seager of Fort Madison, IA four grandchildren,  Jason Cale, Tyler Cale , Dylon Cale and Courtney Keazer,  12 step-grandchildren, Several great grandchildren, one brother, Paul Smith(Faylene) of Burlington, IA.    
She was preceded in death by her, parents, her husand, one son, Darin Leon Cale, two brothers, Arlo and Danny Smith and one sister Pat Moore.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 24, at 10 a.m. at the Montrose Cemetery with Pastor Preston Smith officiating.
