Richard Fredrick Siegle, 87, of Oakville, died at 10:20 PM Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield.
Born September 3, 1934, in Burlington, he was the son of Fred and Lena Frank Siegle. On September 2, 1956, he married Thelma Irene Schulz in Burlington. She passed on January 9, 2012.
He was a graduate of Huron High School.
Farming was Richard's life. He took great pride in his family's farm and passed along his love for the land to his children and grandchildren. He was a former 4H Leader and served on many boards, including; Pork Producers, Big River Ethanol Board, Iowa Corn Growers Board and the Local Levee and Drainage. He enjoyed being outdoors and driving in the local antique tractor ride. The most important thing to Richard was his family. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren in their activities and watching his family grow.
Survivors include his son, Kirk (Carole) Siegle of Oakville; two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Strawhacker of Johnston, IA, and Kathy (Brett) Kelly of Waunakee, WI; daughter-in-law, Kim Siegle of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Siegle and Phyllis Siegle both of Burlington.
Besides his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Ray and Mark Siegle.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2022 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mr. Siegle will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Oakville.
Memorials have been established for Hospice Compassus and the local antique tractor ride.
