Samantha Erin Curley, 39, of Burlington, died Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her home, surrounded by family.

Born June 15, 1983, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Timothy E. and Deana A. Jacobs Scott. On May 20, 2006, she married Richard Joseph Curley in Mosquito Park Burlington.

Sami graduated in 2001 from Burlington High School, then attended SCC, graduating in 2012.

Sami loved writing, music, dancing and singing. She loved elephants and was known to be very smart and quick witted. She was very involved with the MS Warrior support group, and often took a leadership role. Sami had volunteered for experimental treatments and research studies for her MS.

Even after her passing, Sami wanted to continue to help others by donating her body to science to help aid in Multiple Sclerosis Research.

Survivors include husband, Joe of Burlington; parents, Timothy and Deana Scott of Burlington; two sons, Connor and Cohen Curley; daughter, Charli Curley; brother, Justin (Christina) Scott of Burlington; two sisters, Amanda Scott of North Liberty and Mallory (Mike Craig) Scott of Burlington and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents, her mother-in-law, Jan Curley and Max her dog.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Sami requests all those wishing to attend the service, to dress casual and wear orange in support of MS.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM with the family to receive friends Friday, November 18, 2022 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St.

The memorial service for Sami will be 1:30 PM Friday, November 18, 2022, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St., with Pastor Dean Graber officiating.

A memorial has been established for the family.
