Dale Robert Miller, 54, of Keokuk, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa, with his wife by his side.
Dale was born on May 22, 1970, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Larry and Terry (Kay) Miller. He graduated from Keokuk Senior High in 1988. On August 21, 1993, he was united in marriage to Karen Elizabeth Davis at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. She survives. Dale was of the Christian faith.
Dale was employed at Matrix Metals (Keokuk Steel Castings) for over twenty-five years. He was an avid golfer, often going on golfing trips with his friends. He enjoyed fast and slow-pitch softball, bowling, and in his younger years, playing wiffleball and lob ball with friends. He could also be found playing Bingo, going to the casino and watching dirt track racing. Dale rooted for the St. Louis Cardinals and was a season ticket holder to Iowa Hawkeyes Football in previous years. The republican party was a passion for Dale, and he was Donald Trump’s biggest supporter. But he was most passionate about coaching children’s football for his nephew Luke and his friends.
Dale is survived by his wife Karen and their cat, Meow Meow, of Keokuk; his step-mother Kathy (Tom) Royer of Hollister, Missouri; his step-father Chester Jones of Muscatine, Iowa; his special nephew Luke Davis of Keokuk; two sisters: Renae (Darren) Conlee of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Jana (Fiancé Bryan) Kirchner of Keokuk; special aunt Norma Miller of Keokuk; his brother-in-law Paul (Krista) Davis of Gardener, Kansas; two sisters-in-law: Mindi (Tom) Davis of Keokuk and Tonya (Robert) Thurman of Warsaw; two step-sisters: Miranda and Marlana Jones, both of Muscatine, Iowa; his in-laws Jim and Beverly Davis of Kahoka, Missouri; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents Larry Miller and Terry Jones; two step-brothers: Bryan and Brett Loeffler; mother-in-law Mary Beaty Davis; nephew Isaiah Davis; Niece Marley Jones; and four beloved dogs: Snuggles, Sadie, Sophie and Shelby.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk, 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, Iowa, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, from 2 to 7 pm, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.
