Virginia L. Anderton, 75, Richland, WA, formerly of Keokuk, died July 3, 2024 at her home.
She was born on October 31, 1948 to Dorothy Irene Malloy and Benjamin Carl Hatfield in Keokuk, IA.
She married John Walter, Jr. They later divorced. She married Vernon Anderton. They later divorced.
She worked many jobs during her working years; her favorite being a certified nurse’s aide and caregiver.
She was an exceptional seamstress her entire life. She made clothing, doll clothes, dolls, care bears, and quilts. You name it she could sew it. Most recently she made COVID masks and turned the unused masks into what she called a “COVID quilt”. She also worked on the Project Linus Blankets providing blankets for children in need.
Virginia is survived her three children: daughter, Karen (Tim) Bugg; son, Terren Kissler; daughter, Josey Anderton (Frank Upson); one granddaughter, Cassidy Bugg; honorary grandchildren Arie, Ryan and Justin; four brothers: Charles Hatfield, Rusty Hatfield, Clayton Hatfield, and Richard Hornung.
She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Walter; sister, Rhema Egley; both parents, and her beloved stepfather, Edward Dean Trone.
No services will be held per Virginia’s wishes.
