Task Force arrests two on drug charges

Fort Madison and Keokuk men charged with felonies

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Narcotics Task Force reports the arrests of two Lee County men on felony and misdemeanor drug charges.
David Alan Londrie, age 61, of Keokuk is charged with: Possession with the intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a class B felony; Iowa drug tax stamp violation, a class D felony; and Possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
The charges came after a traffic stop was conducted by the Keokuk Police Department.  Officers then found Londrie to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Benjamin Isaiah Mitchell, age 40 of Fort Madison is charged with: Possession with the intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a class B felony; Iowa drug tax stamp violation, a class D felony; and Possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
The charges came after a traffic stop that was conducted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.  Mitchell was taken into custody on other non-related criminal charges and found to be in possession of methamphetamine during the arrest. 
The Lee County Narcotics Task Force were assisted by the Keokuk Police Department and the Lee County Attorney’s Office.
The defendant in this case is presumed innocent until proven guilty.  The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
