Rocky Dale Saltzgaver, 69, of Davenport, IA, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Genesis East, Davenport. Per his request the rite of cremation has been accorded. Graveside services with military honors will be held at TIME on DAY, 2024, at National Cemetery, Keokuk.
Rocky was born January 21, 1955, in Austin, TX. Following high school graduation, he joined the Navy at the age of 17. He was united in marriage to Linda Kempker on November 28, 1975, in St. Paul, IA.
Prior to his retirement, Rocky had worked in building maintenance.
He loved listening to live music, going to concerts, and watching westerns on TV.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Linda; children Chad (Misti) Saltzgaver of Nauvoo, IL, Trisha (Joe) Smith of Davenport, Sandy Nickerson of Davenport; grandchildren Sierra, Allyna, Austin, Emilea, Marcus, Zachary, Adam, Noah, Elijah, Mason, Madeline, Ginger; two great grandchildren; siblings Sheldon (Michelle) Saltzgaver of Ft. Madison, Tina Dudek of Chicago, Nikki (Mike) Schrader of Montrose, IA, Mike (Stephanie) Saltzgaver of Pflugerville, TX, Jack Crawford Jr of Elgin, TX, Sheila (Troy) Spring of Smithville, TX, Gregg Crawford of Pflugerville, Kevin (Vickie) Crawford of Austin, TX; and stepmother Dixie Saltzgaver of Montrose.
He was preceded in death by his dad Larry, mother and father Jacque and Jack Crawford, and son-in-law Max Nickerson.
Services are Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. at National Veteran's Cemetery in Keokuk.
