King-Lynk Funeral Home - Ruth E. Coffey, 88, Fort Madison

Ruth Elizabeth (Hoenig) (Beelman) Coffey, a lifelong resident of Southeast Iowa, entered into her eternal home on June 12, 2024 following a brief illness.
She was born in West Point on November 13, 1935, she was a tender eighty-eight years of age.  The seventh of nine children born to Mary and Frank Hoeing.  Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Frank, Fr. Gerald, Ralph and Albert; two husbands, Jack Beelman and Fred Coffey; two sons, Stephen and Nicholas as well as one granddaughter, Stacie. 
Ruth was blessed to call six children; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren as her own.  
Ruth is survived by three sisters, Jean Helling, Gretchen Joachim, Bernadette Cramblit as well as one brother, David Hoenig.  Her surviving four children include David, Rebecca Marriott, Deborah and Patrick.
Ruth, known as Ruthie to those that loved her saw her as a constant fixture at Holy Family Parish.  Ruth was a lifelong advocate for prolife initiatives as well as serving her local community where needed.  Faith, family and friends were her priorities.  She thoroughly enjoyed living the country life and all that encompassed her wholesome lifestyle. 
Friends may call after 2 PM on Friday, June 14, 2024 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM followed by the family meeting friends from 4-6 PM all at the funeral home.  The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Gary Beckman officiating and burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
