Robert L. Ross, 73, of rural Montrose, IA, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 19, 1951 in LaHarpe, IL to Howard & Mary Payne Ross. He married Kathleen M. Brookhiser on May 21, 1998. He was an industrial painter for most of his life and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, his fish tank, woodworking and building things with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by: his wife: Kathy Brookhiser of Montrose, IA; 7-step children: David (Rhonda) Warner of Sullivan, WI, Tammy (Bryan) Case of Donnellson, IA, Jeffrey Warner of Fort Madison, IA, Jason Warner of Montrose, IA, Wade (Katie) Warner of Washington, Michael (Toni VanBrocklin) Warner of Montrose, IA & Kandice (Rochne Meier) Warner of Ottumwa, IA; numerous step grandchildren & step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, 1-step son: Timothy Warner, 2-brothers & 1-sister.
His body has been donated to the University of Iowa Department of Science. A memorial has been established in Bob’s memory and may be sent to: Kathy Brookhiser, 3082 205th Avenue, Montrose, IA 52639.
