Nancy A. Gray, 89, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 9:03 PM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 8, 1934 in Laverne, IA to Ralph and Erma Stoddard Dimler. On February 5, 1955 she married William Gray, Sr. in Ft. Dodge, IA and he passed away on February 10, 2016.  Nancy was a CNA for many years at Ft. Madison Community Hospital.  She enjoyed canning, baking her famous figure eight cookies, crocheting and planting flowers.  Nancy had several cats throughout her years that she loved.  She was an extremely kind lady and her door was always open for anyone.  Her contagious smile and kind heartedness was evident to all who knew her.  Most of all, Nancy loved her family and spending time with all of them.
Survivors include eight children, Pam (David) Smith of Ft. Madison, Bill (Denise) Gray of West Point, Kurt Gray of New London, Dawn (Chuck) Kempker of Ft. Madison, Jack (Steffi) Gray of Ft. Madison, Jill (Dennis) Pirri of Ft. Madison, Pat Gray of Denmark and Lisa (Kevin) Morgan of North English; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and one on the way.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren, Nicole and P.J.; son in law, Mike Cochran, three sisters and one brother.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 1:30 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Chad Savage officiating.  The family will meet with friends from noon until the time of the service at 1:30 PM.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
