King-Lynk Funeral Home obituary - Leroy G, Knoch, 77, Fort Madison

Leroy Glenn Knoch, 77, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison.  He was born on December 12, 1944 in Fort Madison, IA to Charles & Helen Wharton Knoch.  He married Delores “Susie” VanVelkinburg on December 19, 1964 in Fort Madison, IA.  He worked for Feinburg Scrap Metals in Fort Madison for more than 50 years and always enjoyed operating the excavator.  He enjoyed woodworking and puzzles.  His passion for puzzles was so great that he completed an 18,240-piece puzzle over the course of 7 years.  He made scrollwork  clocks for his children and many other people.

   Leroy is survived by: his wife: Susie Knoch of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Glenda “Pebbles” (Paul) Schneider of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Fred (Stephanie) Knoch of Fort Madison, IA; 5-grandchildren: Austin Post, Denver (Sam) Gittings, Manuel Martinez, Liandra Martinez & Abigail Martinez and 6-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by: his parents, 3-brothers: Charlie, Richard & Don and 3-sisters: Faye, Shirley Ann & Darlene.
