Ernest “Ernie” Andrew Meierotto, 70, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 1:30 AM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
He was born on August 27, 1953 in  Ft. Madison to Andrew and Frances M. Kenel Meierotto.  Ernie worked at Fruehauf for twenty years and also Shipley Construction for twenty years.  He enjoyed Harley Davidsons and also John Deere equipment as well as doing mechanical work on them.  Ernie’s family was very fond of him as he was a great brother, uncle and friend.
Survivors include one brother, Ted (Nancy) Meierotto of West Point, IA; one sister, Julie (Jim) Cooper of West Palm Beach, FL; two nephews, five nieces, great nieces and nephews and his special friend, Nancy.  Ernie was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A graveside service will be held at Noon on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery.  The family will meet with friends from 10 – Noon, just prior to the graveside service, at King-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory.  Online condolences may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory website:  www.kinglynk.com.
