Genevieve Thompson, 69, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 4:07 PM at her home.
She was born on February 10, 1953 in Ft. Madison to Desiderio “Lelo” and Lucy Salazar Prado. On March 15, 1975 she married Darryl Thompson in Ft. Madison. Genevieve was a homemaker and worked at various businesses in the area. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Genevieve was a Nintendo gamer, even up to her last days. She enjoyed painting, doing crafts, cooking, gardening and was always working on a project. She loved all animals and enjoyed feeding them, especially her cats.
Survivors include her husband, Darryl Thompson of Ft. Madison; her mother, Lucy Prado of Ft. Madison; two sisters, Angelita Prado of Ft Madison and Juanita Kirby of Burlington; three grandchildren, Izzy, Gage and Aubree Hind and their mother, Marcy Hind; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Allen Thomspon, her father, Lelo and a brother, Art Prado.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
