Barr Memorial Chapel obituary - Carole E. Sandrock, 89, formerly of Fort Madison

Carole Elizabeth Wallis Sandrock, 89, of Fountain Hills, Arizona entered into Eternal rest Saturday, June 22, 2024.  She was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on December 2, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Martha Marie (Purdy) Wallis.  On February 8, 1975, she married Austin R. Sandrock, and they moved to Phoeniz, Arizona in May 1975. She was the beloved wife to Austin, and a terrific friend to many.  She is survived by her niece, Vicki Wallis (Sean) Kelley (and her son Edward), her nephew, Bradley Wallis (and his sons, Zachary and Jordan), her step-son Todd (Sandy) Sandrock, and the Sandrock family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother Frank B. Wallis.
Carole was the lead commercial artist of the W.A. Sheaffer Pen Company for eleven years.  She also had her own art studio and drew all her birthday and holiday cards for her friends and family.  She loved gardening, skiing, swimming, biking, and golf with her husband, Austin.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., American Legion Auxiliary, and Women’s Club.  
Visitation will be held 10:00 - 11:00 am,  Friday June 28, 2024 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.  Her funeral service will follow and begin at 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Sandrock family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
