DONNELLSON - The West Burlington pace was too much in the early going as the Lady Falcons rolled Central Lee 58-27 Tuesday night in Donnellson.

West Burlington raced out to a 22-0 lead on a pesky 1-3-1 defense and uptempo game. Senior Abby Bence had 10 points for West Burlington in the run.

The Hawks missed their first nine and 10 of their first 11 shots from the field with only one offensive rebound in the period and trailed 26-3 after the first period.

Mya Lampe scored the Hawks' first points of the game with a 3-pointer with :42 left in the quarter.

The lid came off a bit for Central Lee in the second quarter as Makayla Morrison, Kodi Moeller, and Maddie McGlasson all got in on the scoring.

But Bence raced out to 21 points in the first half as West Burlington pulled away for a 43-12 first half lead.

The Hawks put up 15 in the second half and held the Lady Falcons to just 15, but couldn't cut into the large first half lead.

Lampe finished with 12 points to lead  Central Lee. McKasson had four points. Bence led all scorers with 31 on the night.

The Hawks fall to 2-3 and 2-4 on the year and host Danville Friday night. They play in the River Rivalry Classic on Saturday at Clark County High School.
