Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Price, 82, of Fort Madison, IA formerly of Keokuk, IA died Saturday, January 27, 2024 at The Kensington in Fort Madison, IA.

He was born on February 23, 1941 in Eolia, MO the son of Daniel W. and Maizie May Sharp Price.

Gerald proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War.

On April 28, 1978 he was united in marriage to Donna Louise Wyrick Kay in Hamilton, IL. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2016.

Gerald was a machine operator for Gregory Manufacturing in Ft. Madison.  He had also worked various other jobs.  He was a jack of all trades and could do about anything.

He was a very talented guitarist and led several bands throughout his life.  He was an outdoorsman at heart and spent as much time as he could hunting and fishing.  Gerald had a very humorous side of his personality. Even though he seemed to be a crusty old person he was very loving and generous.

He is survived by two sisters, Mildred Frederick and Juanita Axtell, a special nephew, Jeff Frederick, and a special niece, Terry Howell and other nieces and nephews.

Gerald was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Charles, Daniel Jr., William and Robert Price.

According to Gerald’s wishes, there will be no services.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
