Vigen Memorial Home obituary - Cherie D. Wilsey, 66, Keokuk

Cherie Diane (Jones) Wilsey, 66, of Keokuk passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Healthcare Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
     She was born March 3, 1958 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Robert Isaac and Norma Bernice Mortimer Jones. 
     She graduated from Keokuk High School.
     On December 2, 1983, Cherie was united in marriage to James Alive Wilsey, Sr. in Kahoka, MO.  He survives.
     She is also survived by a daughter, Heather (Phil) Francy of New London, IA and two sons, James Jr. (Nikki) Wilsey of Keokuk and Scott (Lori) Wilsey of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and eight grandchildren, Trent Wilsey, Tiffany Wilsey, Bryce Wilsey, Corrine Wilsey, Ashton Wilsey-Monroe, Derek Wilsey, Lillian Francy and Skylar Francy and nine great grandchildren as well as her church family.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Janet Egley and two brothers, Skip Jones and Terry Jones.
     Cherie has been employed at Decker Manufacturing for the last forty-three years.
     She was a member of Living Waters Assembly of God in Keokuk where she was a wonderful Sunday school teacher and also active in the Children’s Ministry Rainbows Program. 
     Cherie enjoyed fishing, riding horses and attending her grandkids sporting events.  She loved spending time with family and friends and also going for car rides, looking for deer. She loved all animals, even the neighborhood cats.  She enjoyed nature both flowers and birdwatching.  She especially enjoyed family BBQ’s and vacationing as much as she could; always asking when the next one was. 
     A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 15 at Living Waters Assembly of God in Keokuk with Pastor Larry Wallingford officiating.  Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday at the church with family meeting with friends at that time.
     Memorials may be made to Keokuk Dialysis Center or Living Waters Children’s Ministry Rainbows Program.
