Mediapolis rebounds for win over Hawks

Kent scores early, but Central Lee can't hold off Bulldogs

DONNELLSON – The Central Lee boys soccer team fell to 0-3 on the year with a 6-1 loss to Mediapolis Tuesday night.

The Hawks jumped out to a very quick 1-0 lead when Ayden Kent blasted a shot unassisted, just 83 seconds off the whistle. But the Bulldogs would go to work from there scoring six unanswered, three in the first half and three in the second to get the win,.

Mediapolis had a 3-1 lead at halftime scoring at the 26 minute mark, at 8:30 and again with :28 left in the half.

Central Lee held Mediapolis scoreless for the first 15 minutes of the second half, but then the Bulldogs scored three times in 18 minutes to put the match out of reach.

Hunter Gregory had three saves and Nathan Newberry had nine in the loss

The Hawks fall to 0-1 in the SEI Superconference and host Highland Tuesday night at Central Lee High School.
