FORT MADISON - The Mississippi River threw high murky water, with near perilous currents and a variety of timber, duck blinds and anything that floats at the Lake Cooper Angling Assoc. pool19 club event. This didn’t prevent these anglers from having a good event with many fish caught and all released unharmed.
Fort Madisons’ Scott Seager finished first (84.5 in) with second place Jeff Eaves (80.875 in.). Brent Rudy from Burlington pegged third place with 80 total inches.
The Co-Angler division saw Hamilton, Ill. Josh Tipton finish at the top of the co-angler leader board with a card of 79.50 inches. Tipton also caught the big bass of the day with a nice 18.5 incher. Chad Saltzgaver with 78.375 inches and Dan Goeke with 40.125 inches to finish second and third in this division. Both anglers are Lee County residents.
The LCAA is an open club for aspiring anglers and has been an active regional and local community catch and release club, utilizing a ‘bump and dump” format process for over 37 years. Prospective anglers, weather for competition or educational reasons, men or women and in some cases teenagers 15 up are welcome. No boat is needed! We are always looking for non-boaters, as it is part of our verification process for each boat to have a partner.
