Lady Hounds win 6th straight

Conference title on line tonight at BHS

MEDIAPOLIS - The Fort Madison Lady Hounds won their sixth game in a row and 9th of their last 10 with a 2-1 win over Mediapolis Tuesday night.

Keeper Taylor Johnson held the Bulldogs to just one goal while racking up six saves including  a penalty session win in OT. Laura Mehmert scored for the Hounds on a sixth penalty kick to win the game. It was the second time this season that Mehmert has scored a winning goal in penalty kick sessions.

Mary Kate Bendlage, Teagan Snaadt, and Camille Kruse all scored in the penalty kick session. Snaadt scored the regular session goal for the Hounds, the sophomore's 18th of the year.

Hadley Wolfe had six shots on goal in the game. Halle Menke had three. Macey McLees and Olivia Krause also each had a shot on goal. Snaadt had three shots and one on goal.

The Lady Hounds take on Burlington today at Bracewell Stadium with the Southeast Conference title on the line. The two are tied overall at 9-2, but the Lady Hounds trail BHS by a game in the SEC with Burlington at 8-0 and Fort Madison at 7-1.

Burlington owns a 1-0 win over Fort Madison three weeks ago at the Baxter Sports Complex.
