Lady Hounds second at MEPO Invitational

MEDIAPOLIS – Fort Madison’s girls runners finished second in the Bullette Invite Thursday in Mediapolis.

The Hounds were 21 points behind Pekin with 108. The Panthers racked up 139 to take the title.

Central Lee girls finished 8^th with 37 points.

Avery Rump led the Lady Hounds with three top-two finishes in the distance events. She took the 1600 and 800 runs. Rump took first in the 1600 with 5:17.75. She also took 1^st in the 3000-meter run at 11:09.46. Her 2:36.94 was good enough for second in the 800-meter run.

Aija Jenkins took first in the high jump at 5’-0” and the shuttle hurdle relay team also took first place.

Central Lee’s Kamryn Cox took second in the 400-hurdles in 1:19.01. Fort Madison’s 4x100, 4x200 or 4x400  and distance medley relay teams all took 2^nd place. Central Lee’s shuttle hurdle team took 2^nd.

Chloe Sokolik took third in the 100-hurdles with a 18.77 for the Lady Hounds and Karlie Pohren took 3^rd in the 200-meters for the Lady Hawks at 28.73.
