Lady Hounds get third straight shutout

Showdown with Burlington looms Thursday

WASHINGTON – Teagan Snaadt is establishing herself as a premier scorer in the Southeast Conference.

The sophomore scored two more goals Thursday night as the Lady Hounds ripped off their third shutout in the past three games in a 6-0 win on the road at Washington.

Snaadt opened the scoring with under two minutes gone in the match. She would score again in the first half to give Fort Madison a 3-0 lead.

The Lady Hounds also got a score from Laura Mehmert in the first half as Taylor Johnson was keeping the net clear.

Fort Madison got two goals from Hadley Wolfe, and another from Mehmert in the second half.

Johnson had five saves in the game. Jenna Hellman and Halle Menke each had shots on goal in the game.

Snaadt leads the Hounds with 17 goals on the campaign but has eight over the last two games. Freshman Halle Menke leads the team in assists with 10 on the season.

Fort Madison is just one game out of first place trailing Burlington who’s 7-0 in the Southeast Conference and 8-2 overall. Fort Madison stands at 6-1 in the conference and 7-2 overall with a showdown set for Thursday at Bracewell Stadium in Burlington.
