KEOKUK – The Fort Madison Lady Hounds tennis team escaped with a win over host Keokuk Monday night after taking four of six singles matches.
Molly Knipe continued her nice start to the year with an 8-5 win over the Chiefs’ Brittney Kelly at No. 1 singles.
Lauren Otte, Naudia Ruston, and Makenna Pixler won at Nos. 3-5 singles. Ruston won a gritty 8-8 tiebreaker 7-3. Pixler won 8-2 at No. 5 and Otte won 8-5 at No. 3.
Madeline Gobble and Brianna Wright both fell at No. 6 and No. 2, both by 8-4 scores.
Knipe and Otte teamed up at No. 1 doubles and worked an 8-8 tie, then won the tiebreaker 7-4.
Keokuk won No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.
