FAIRFIELD - The Fort Madison girls basketball team got a balanced scoring attack Friday night in their 67-17 rout of Fairfield on the road.

The win moves Fort Madison to the front of the Southeast Conference at 2-0 and keeps them perfect overall at 5-0.

Senior Camille Kruse continues to lead the Lady Hounds in scoring with 17 Friday. She has 90 on the year, which is tops in the conference.

Fort Madison's pesky defense held the Trojans scoreless throughout the first quarter while Kruse dumped in five of the Hounds' first 11.

Dayonna Davis stepped up in the second quarter with 10 points to help the Bloodhounds extend their lead to 25 at the half 36-11.

Fairfield would manage just six second half points as Fort Madison pulled away with 17 in the fourth quarter alone.

Irelynd Sargent had 11 points and seven boards. Davis finished with 13 and a couple blocks. Taylor Johnson had seven points and seven boards, while Molly Knipe and Aija Jenkins each finished with six on the night.

The Hounds are off until Friday when they travel to Keokuk for a conference matchup.

On Saturday, Fort Madison will play in the River Rival Series in Kahoka. The girls will play Centralia at 12:30 p.m. at Clark County High School and then have to travel to Quincy to take on West Central at John Wood Community College the same night.
