FORT MADISON – Fort Madison High School ran a rare second home meet on Tuesday night hosting the Keokuk Relays. Construction crews are on the site at Keokuk High School prompting the move.

Fort Madison girls took second place with 104 points behind Mt. Pleasant’s 189. Central Lee girls were sixth with 25 points.

On the boys’ side Fort Madison was third with 93 points behind Mt. Pleasant with 173 points and Burlington with 115.33. Central Lee was fifth with 45.67 points.

The Lady Hounds got a first place in the 4x800 behind the efforts of Elle Huebner, Mara Smith, Addison Rump, and Peyton Wiegand with a time of 10:59.76.

Aija Jenkins also gave the Hounds 10 points with her 1^st place in the high jump clearing 4-10.

Avery Rump pulled in 20 points with her top finishes in the 1500 and 3000-meter runs. Addison Rump set a personal best with her second place in the 1500 with a time of 5:22.29. Avery won the event in 5:08.23.

On the boys’ side, Central Lee got a first place finish from Thomas Eschman in the long jump at 21-4.5. The Hawks got a second place finish with Eschman leading the way in the 4x100 along with Corbin Pohren, Brayden Wyrick, and Grant Myhre for a 46.26 mark.

Fort Madison’s boys got first place finishes in the 4x200 with Tate Settles, Kiawante Smith, Nik Fullenkamp, and Dayton Lamar with a time of 1:34.79. The productive Shuttle Hurdle relay squad of Gavin Callahan, Smith, Adam Sobczak, and Henry Wiseman also took first place with a time of at 1:04.44.

Fort Madison’s 4x100 team, which qualified for Drake this coming weekend, was disqualified for a false start. The Hounds run in preliminaries Saturday morning.

Eschman will jump in the long jump preliminaries on Friday afternoon.
