DONNELLSON - For the first time this year, Fort Madison had three players in double figures as the Lady Hawks rolled Columbus 68-32 in Donnellson.

The Hawks, now  4-4, 3-3 in the SEI Superconference South, got 20 points from Makayla Morrison, 18 from freshman Kenna Sandoval, and 17 from Mya Lampe in the win.

Lampe hit four 3-pointers in the first half and then added another in the 3rd quarter, to count for five of Central Lee's 10 on the night.

The ladies raced out to a quick 23-6 lead in the first period behind Lampe's nine points, while the defense held Columbus to just six points.

The two teams played a more even second quarter, but Columbus couldn't gain any ground on the Hawks' big first quarter lead and trailed by 20, 41-21 at the half.

Central Lee's defense went to work in the second half holding Columbus to just 11 points, only two in the third quarter as the game got out of hand from there.

The girls are off now through the holiday break and resume play on Jan. 6, with a trip to Holy Trinity Catholic.
