Kemper wins title for FM girls at Highland

HIGHLAND - Fort Madison's Hailey Kemper wrestled her way to first place at Highland in the girls' 3 division Friday night.

Kemper recorded three falls, including a win over Abbie Grout of Highland at 3:54 to capture the  weight title.

Kemper also got pins over Bella Dallege of Tipton and Lina Nguyen of Davenport, both coming in the first period.

At 15, Chloe Sokolik placed third after scoring a pin over Payten Coleman of Pekin in the first period at 1:43.

Sokolik would lose her next two matches, the first in a 7-0 decision and her round three match by pin in the first period.

Tatum Peters also captured 3rd place at 38. She recorded a pin in her first match and lost in rounds two and three.

Mady Emmett finished in 4th at the girls 30. Emmett lost by pin in the second period of her first match and then fell in the final two rounds.

The girls travel to Ottumwa for Saturday invitational.
