Hounds get win on road at Keokuk

Fort Madison takes four of six singles matches

KEOKUK – The Fort Madison Bloodhounds got the sweep over Keokuk in boys' tennis action with a 6-3 win in Keokuk Thursday night.

The Hounds got four singles wins and two doubles wins to secure the win.

Aiden Benda got the win at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 score over Tice Hoppe. Keokuk’s Brendan Worster knocked off Fort Madison’s Javian Davis 6-4, 8-6 at No. 2.

Fort Madison got wins at Nos. 3, 5, and 6 with Jed Bruster, George Hantzeas, and Allister Raines all winning. At No. 3, Bruster had to go into a first-set tiebreaker and won 7-2 to secure a two-set win.

In doubles action, Fort Madison forfeited No. 1 doubles and then swept No. 2 with Bruster/Raines defeating Jackston McNally and Zach Atteberg 6-2, 6-4. James Janic/Hantzeas downed Kole Keppel and Quintin Stark 6-2, 6-1.

The Hounds take on Muscatine tomorrow evening on the road.
