Hounds fall to 0-4 with loss at Williamsburg

Cresswell leads Fort Madison with 14 points in loss

WILLIAMSBURG - The Fort Madison boys are still trying to find their first win of the year.

The Hounds fell to Williamsburg on the road Tuesday night 67-41 despite being within two points at the half.

Fort Madison held a 10-6 first quarter lead with Hunter Cresswell scoring twice from the field, but Williamsburg responded with 17 second-quarter points taking the lead in the final minute of the half.

The two teams tied at 16 before Fort Madison got a 3-ball from Leif Boeding as part of 5-0 run for a 21-16 lead, but then the Raiders would counter with a 7-0 run of their own in the final four minutes to take the lead at 23-21 at the half.

Williamsburg wouldn't surrender the lead and would open the third period with a 12-4 run to take a 35-27 lead.

Fort Madison sent Williamsburg to the line 10 times while only getting to the line twice themselves down the stretch.

Ethan Harman hit four 3-balls in the final period to ice the  win for the Raiders. He led all scorers with 16 points.

Cresswell finished with 14 points to lead the Hounds. Carson Rashid had nine points and Dayton Lamar had eight in the loss.

Fort Madison (0-4) travels to Keokuk (1-3) on Friday night before returning to Keokuk High School on Saturday to play in the River Rivalry Classic.
