Hounds 3rd, Lady Hounds 4th at CR Prairie Invite

Guzman, Weigand take 6th as highest places for FM

CEDAR RAPIDS – Paetyn Wiegand led the the Fort Madison girls' contingency Saturday at the Cedar Rapids Prairie Invitational to open cross-country action for the Lady Hounds.
Wiegand took sixth place with a 21:36.10 followed by Addison Rump who came in 7th with a 21:45.8.
The Lady Hounds captured fourth place in the Orange Division as McKayla Schinstock took 13th with a 22:22.1. The next two scoring runners were Hadley Wolfe at 32nd with a 24:37.9 and Charlie Huebner finishing 34th with a 25:11.4, giving Fort Madison 90 points total.
Ellie Huebner also ran with a 26:03.5.
The Fort Madison boys' team came home with third place in the Orange Division with 70 points. The top five runners' positions total the team score.
Nolan Guzman took 6th at 18:06.4, followed by Jacob Shottenkirk with a 9th-place finish at 18:30.2.
Riley Tripp was a top-15 finisher placing 14th with a 18:36.2. Calvin Johnson and Hunter Wiegand were the other two scoring runners for the Hounds. Johnson was 20th at 19:10.3 and Wiegand was right behind in 21st place with a 19:10.4.
Other runners for Fort Madison include: Mason McLey with a 19:17.1 (24th), and Castille Johnstun 20:30.1 (40th).
