Hellige throws gem on senior night

Seniors honored at South Park Tuesday

WEST POINT – Senior Mary Hellige threw a perfect game on a night honoring her four years on the Holy Trinity softball team.
The Crusaders also got big games from other seniors including Kayla Box, Rachel Menke, Laura Mehmert, Brooke Mueller, Halie Cain and Jenna DiPrima.
The Crusaders put up seven runs in the first inning, three runs in the second and two in the third to take a 12-run lead after three innings invoking the 12-run rule.
Cain went 2-3 with two RBI on a triple and a double. Mueller, Cain and Hellige all had doubles for HTC.
Hellige went three innings without giving up a hit or a walk and fanned 1 to get the win.
The Crusaders are now 6-5 in the SEI Superconference and 9-9 overall.
