BURLINGTON - Camille Kruse stepped up and scored 26 points as Fort Madison downed Burlington 46-28 at Johannson Gym on Friday night.

The Hounds held Burlington to just five first-half points, despite not having the services of guard Irelynd Sargent, who's out following a knee injury last week.

The Hounds' defense kept up the pressure in the third quarter, allowing just two points while going off on a 14-2 run to hold a 37-7 lead after three quarters.

BHS freshman Mylee Stiefel put in seven in the fourth quarter as Burlington put a little run together and outscored the Lady Hounds 19-9 in the final eight minutes.

Kruse had 13 in each half, while Halle Menke put in eight in the second half on the way to a season-high 12 points, to keep the Hounds out of reach.

Lily Bartles led the (0-4, 2-7) Grayhounds with nine points.

Kruse moved passed 200 points on the year with her performance Friday. The Hounds (4-1, 9-3) play at cross-town rival Holy Trinity Saturday in a girls'/boys' double header.

The game will feature the annual HTC Cake auction with cake's being auctioned off between games and at half-time.
