Crusaders get 20 wins for the 20th time

Freesmeier has 20 straight campaigns with 20 wins.

KEOSAUQUA – The Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders are once again peaking at just the right time.
The Class 1A’s No. team knocked off Van Buren County in Keosauqua in three sets in a SEI Superconference win 25-12, 25-19, 25-10. The win was the Crusaders 20th of the season and it marks the 20th straight year that a Melissa Freesmeier team has reached 20 wins in a season.
Adalyn Kruse and Presley Myers combined for 20 kills, 10 each, while combined for just three attack errors on the night.
Senior Anna Bendlage had seven kills and 13 assist. Elizabeth Griffin led the Crusaders with 17 assists in the win. Griffin was also a perfect 16-16 serving with three aces. Teagan Snaadt and Kruse each had 16 digs for HTC, while Griffin added 12.
Bendlage, Myers, and Kruse were all perfect from the service line.
HTC stands atop the SEI Superconference South Division at 6-0 a match ahead of West Burlington at 5-1. The Crusaders are 20-5 overall and host Central Lee on Thursday before traveling to Pella Saturday for a Saturday six-team invitational.
