Central Lee wins Keokuk Invitational

Fort Madison's Ulik wins individual medalist

FORT MADISON - Central Lee edged Fort Madison by five strokes at the Keokuk Invitational golf outing Thursday in Keokuk.
 
The Bloodhounds' Brennan Ulik took medalist honors with an 80, followed by Central Lee's Caleb Larson with an 83.
 
The modified format featured individual play for the top two players on each team. The 3rd and 4th seeds played better ball and the 5th and 6th seeds played a scramble.
 
In the better ball matches, Ashton Robinson of Central Lee shot a 76, playing his own ball during the event with no partner. Ian Acklie and Greydon Kleine of Clark County shot an 83 for runner-up honors.
 
Fort Madison's Emmett Kruse & Jordan Simpson shot a 76 for medalist honors. Tate O'Shea and Gavin Lemaster of Keokuk shot an 82, while Bo Herdrich and Cale Clark of Central Lee shot an 82.
 
Central Lee finished the team scores with 332, while Fort Madison had a 337. Keokuk was third with a 361, Notre Dame carded a 381. Holy Trinity and Clark County didn't field a full team.
