Hawks off to 6-4 start as conference play nears

KEOKUK – The Central Lee girls' volleyball team continues its lofty start to the fall season.
The Hawks rolled Keokuk on the road Thursday night with a 25-19, 24-12, 25-19 three-set win over the Chiefs in non-conference southeast Iowa volleyball action.
Taylor Jones and Kenna Sandoval each had double-digit kills with 11 and 10, respectively, on 30 and 29 attempts.
Sandoval also had 18 assists for the Lady Hawks. Ellie Lake had 14.
Kenna Sandoval was 15-18 from the service line with six aces.. Jayden Mueller was a perfect 12 of 12 with four aces. She also had 26 digs to lead the Hawks defense.
The Hawks stand at 6-4 on the year and have yet to play a SEI Superconference matchup. They play host to Mediapolis (3-2) Tuesday night.
