KEOSAUQUA - Van Buren's Jackson Manning poured in 26 points to lead Van Buren in a 59-34 win over Central Lee Friday at Van Buren County High School.

The Warriors held Central Lee to just four points in the first half, a bucket each by Cory Jones and Brayden Wyrick.

The slow start was too much for the Hawks to overcome, despite outscoring Van Buren 30-23 in the second half.

Wyrick scored ten of his team-high 14 in the second half and five of those came in the final period. Owen Swan added a couple second half three pointers on his way to six points.  Jones finished with eight.

The Hawks (0-5, 0-4 in the SEI Superconference) host West Burlington on Tuesday night, Danville on Friday night, and then play in the River Rivalry Series at Keokuk High School on Saturday. The Hawks will take on Brookfield on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
