Central Lee boys knock off Danville

Hawks move above .500 in SEI Superconference play

DANVILLE – Central Lee boys downed Danville 2-1 in SEI Superconference boys' soccer action Friday night in Danville.

Danville opened the scoring with a goal at the 17:17 mark in the first half and led 1-0 at the break.

The Hawks tied things up at 15:41 in the second half when Ayden Kent scored unassisted. Neither team would score again in regulation forcing an overtime session.

Landan Lowenberg would score on a rebound off of Dante Merschman’s header that hit the crossbar to give Central Lee the win 2-1.

The Hawks improve to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in the SEISC with the win. They travel to Burlington Notre Dame for a 7 p.m. game Monday night.
