Vigen Memorial Home obituary - Sharon J. Bullard, 83, Keokuk

Sharon Joyce Bullard, 83 of Keokuk, IA passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA.
     She was born May 27, 1941 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Leo and Leona Juanita Johnson Hemingway.  Sharon graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1959. 
     On June 5, 1960 Sharon was united in marriage to Donald Lee Bullard at the Assembly of God Church in Keokuk.  He preceded her in death on August 1, 2007.
     Sharon had been employed by the City of Keokuk as the secretary at city hall and later at the street department until her retirement.    
     She was a faithful member of Living Waters Assembly of God in Keokuk.
     Sharon enjoyed traveling, camping and bowling. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, especially during her favorite holiday, the Fourth of July.  Music was another passion, and she never missed an opportunity to attend gospel music or country music concerts.
     She is survived by one son, Todd Bullard (Kathleen) of Keokuk, one granddaughter, Ashton Bullard-Wenke (Noah) of Keokuk and one great-grandson, Liam Bullard-Wenke.  She is also survived by one sister, Sandy Pollitt (John) of Keokuk and one niece and three nephews.
     Besides her husband, Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Leo Hemingway, one sister, Beverly Ann Hemingway and one great-niece, Lori Ann Pollitt.
     A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 14 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Larry Wallingford officiating.  Burial will be in the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, IA.
     Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., Monday at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
