Leona Christine Scudder, 60, of Keokuk, IA, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison, IA.

She was born September 5, 1963 in Fort Shirley, MA the daughter of Clyde and Christine Heidecker Alvis.  Leona graduated from Keokuk High School.

On June 12, 1989 Leona was united in marriage to Charles Scudder in Keokuk.  He survives. 

Other survivors include one brother, Eugene Alvis (Jewels) of Keokuk, one sister, Viola Auvil of Louisville, KY and four nieces, Amanda Schenkel of Washington, IA, Brinda Porter of Louisville, KY, Rebecca Rigdon of Elizabethtown, KY and Brittany Jolly of Lexington, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Leona had been the owner and operator of C&L Remodeling with her husband Charles for many years.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Leona had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening in both her vegetable and flower gardens.  She had a wonderful apple tree and was generous with the fruits of her labor, sharing with her family and friends.  Leona also enjoyed fishing and hosting neighborhood fish frys.  She loved her cats and raised many litters of kittens through the years that she gave away for others to love.

There will be no services at this time.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
