Posted

LEE COUNTY - The Lee County Commission of Veterans Affairs will be hosting an Outreach Event for area veterans and their families on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 11am – 2:00 pm. The event will take place at the large shelter house at the county park, Wilson Lake, located just off Highway 2 between Donnellson and Wet Point.

There will be hot dogs, chips and drinks served. Fishing and hiking will be available in this beautiful park for the adults and kiddos alike, so you may want to bring your fishing tackle. We will have several representatives on hand from the following programs that help veterans: Iowa Works, Home Base Iowa, VBA Administration, Southeastern Community College (GI Bill), Community Engagement & Partnership Coordinator, Suicide Prevention, Caregivers Support Programs, Keokuk National Cemetery, Iowa 2 x 4s For Hope, Conservation Park Rangers and, due to popular request, we are bringing back the Lee County Veteran ID cards.

We encourage our younger and older veterans alike to come out to this engaging, informative, and supportive family event.
