LMNOP to kick off summer music fest at Old Settlers

The 2023 Music in the Park in Old Settlers Park in Fort Madison gets underway this month.
Local favorite LMNOP will entertain residents in the park on Friday, June 23. The band features Greg Smith, Randy Fraker, Ned Francis, and Bobby Fitzgerald in their light-hearted show.
The Fort Madison Lions Club will be serving grilled brats and hot dogs with the usual sides and desserts.
On Friday, July 21, Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50s again will grace the city's park. Richie Lee, Hank Muzney, and Justin David Cramer return by popular demand. Pen City Cruisers will be there, as well. Lee County Pork Producers will be serving their famous pork loin sandwiches with a bunch of good sides and desserts.
Wrapping up the summer music sessions will be a sponsor recognition and the River City 6's Big Band Sounds. Recognition will take place during the first break and the Elks Lodge will assist with serving.
Rainout location for any event will be the Fort Madison United Methodist Church at 9th and Avenue E.
All concerts and food sales begin at 5 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Sponsors this year include Climax Molybdenum, Conagra Brands, Connection Bank, Dupont Specialty Products, Beverly Fahey, Great River Health Systems, Georgia & Ed Merschman, Jan & Jack Moore, Sharon & Moudy Nabulsi, OCI Nitrogen Iowa, Donald & Earleen Page, Pen City Cruisers, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Seither & Cherry Services, UFC Local 617, Marie & Lex Whitcanack, and Dan Willits. 
Gifts for startup expenses have been donated as well by Linda Smith and Pat Kious in memory of her sister Carol Foss, long time recording secretary for OSA. 
"We thank Pen City Current, The Democrat, and OUT AND ABOUT Chamber Newsletter for publicity," said Jim Decker, President of OSA. 
"All our donations and profits from food sales are returned to the park to provide grounds services, decorations for holidays, and replacement of landscaped areas as needed.  We hope to maintain the park for all to enjoy."
