Leadership group looking for non-profit projects

Lee County Leadership class to take on two selected projects

LEE COUNTY -  The Lee County Leadership Committee is inviting area non-profit organizations to submit proposals for projects that will affect positive change in Lee County. Two project proposals will be selected for implementation by the Lee County Leadership Class of 2024. Proposals should be specific, concise, and attainable within a 12-week timeframe.
Lee County Leadership is a collaborative effort program between the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, Lee County Economic Development Group and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Lee County. This program is designed to train emerging leaders in community-based leadership skills, promote community engagement and increase capacity among community members for addressing common issues and problems. Participants will benefit from gaining a comprehensive understanding of community leadership and its significance, developing core competencies linked to resilience, and acquiring practical tools and techniques to address pertinent community issues and harness potential opportunities.
The 2023/2024 class has accepted 9 participants across Lee County. Classes and events are held in various locations throughout the area from October 2023 through May 2024.
Organizations wishing to submit a project for consideration may contact the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce at 319-372-5471 or chamber@fortmadison.com to discuss the program or to request an application. Project applications are due November 1st, 2023 to be reviewed and presented to the Class to begin work in 2024.
