FORT MADISON - The 26th Annual Kids’ Fishing Clinic will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Pollmiller Park in West Point, Iowa. The event, which will be held rain or shine, is open to all children aged 16 and under.
Participants are invited to sign in between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. Fishing will commence at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 11:00 a.m. Following the fishing activities, a free lunch will be provided, and door prizes will be drawn for all participants.
The clinic coincides with Iowa's Free Fishing Weekend, so no fishing licenses are needed. Kids should bring their own fishing poles and bait; however, dip nets and boats are not allowed. Lee County Conservation will provide poles and bait for those in need. The event follows a catch-and-release policy.
In addition to fishing, the clinic will feature educational sessions on water safety, Iowa fishing laws, and the importance of natural resource stewardship. There will also be fun and educational games and crafts for the kids.
Pre-registration is encouraged, but not necessary. For more information or to register, please contact Mary at (319) 470-1856 or Izaaks at (319) 470-7479.
The event is proudly sponsored by the Izaak Walton League (Green Bay Chapter), Hellige Lawn Care, Madison Turf & Timber, Iowa DNR, and Lee County Conservation.
Join us for a fun-filled day of fishing and outdoor activities. We look forward to seeing you there!
