Ronald G. Kemp, 73, of Ft. Madison, IA, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 5:20 PM at his home.
He was born on August 9, 1951 in Ft. Madison to Cleo and Betty Randall Kemp. On December 23, 1988 he married Sharon Langwell Dettmers in Ft. Madison. Ron drove a truck for Churchill Trucking and CCX where he retired from in 2013. He loved being outdoors and working on his property. Ron loved going to yard sales and he was a collector of everything.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Kemp of Ft. Madison; two daughters, Mindy Jones of Ft. Madison and Kari Crawford of Iberia, MO; one stepdaughter, Leslie Dettmers of Burlington; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Delbert Kemp of Ft. Madison and his beloved dog and best friend, Chico. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons in law, Wade Jones and Jimmy Crawford.
The family will meet with friends from 1-3 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 10:30 AM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Chad Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
