D. Alan Miller, 79, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 1:37 p.m. at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in Burlington, IA.  He was born on August 15, 1945 in Leon, IA, the son of Darwin Lee & Velma Hageman Miller.  On December 18, 1965 he married Betty Lou Armatis in Rockwell, IA.  He graduated from Rockwell Swaledale High School and then served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967.  He then worked for Armour Dial in Mason City, IA and the Fort Madison plant with 29 years of service.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and loved being outdoors.
Alan is survived by: his wife: Betty Miller of Fort Madison, IA; 1-son: Troy (Alison) Miller of Danville, IA; 1-daughter: Stephany (Nick) Helms of Donnellson, IA; 6-grandchildren: Trent Miller, Josey (Anthony) Markey, Joslyn Hawk, Alissa (Cory Hall) Miller, Tristan (Courtney) Miller, Ashley (Seth) Krogmeier, Brittney Helms; 10-great grandchildren; 1-brother: Larry (Connie) Miller of Mason City, IA & 1-step brother: Gary (Doris) Wiley of Dallas, TX.  He was preceded in death by: his parents & his stepfather, Emmet Wiley.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.  A private family burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
