KEOSAUQUA - Luke Hellige poured in 21 points as the Holy Trinity boys snapped a 3-game losing streak with a 60-43 win over Van Buren County in Keosauqua.
The Crusaders overcame a slow start and trailed 8-6 at the end of the first quarter, but came back to tie things up at 22-22 at the half.
HTC's shooting heated up in the third period with three 3-pointers - one each from Nick Fullenkamp, Layne Rung, and Hellige, while the defense clamped down on the Warriors.
Van Buren scored 11 points in the third period, while the Crusaders opened up a 9-point lead at 42-33 going into the final period.
Adam Sobczak would go 5-6 from the free throw line in the final period and Conner Gehling would pour in eight points, all from the field. Gehling would finish with 16 on the night.
Sobczak, Fullenkamp, and Rung all finished with six points for the Crusaders.
Jackson Manning led all scorers with 25 for Van Buren. Isaak Loeffler had 10.
HTC travels to Keokuk Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. game in the River Rivalry Classic where they take on Highland, Mo.
